Tree selection & planting recommendations
The right trees make a valuable and enduring contribution to any property or landscape. I can offer my knowledge, research and professional experience to help you select the ideal tree for the environment, either as a landscape feature or to provide amenity, while balancing the requirements for future routines of care or maintenance.
I can also provide recommendations on tree selection and planting in relation to visual appeal, seasonal merits, expansion of biodiversity, legacies and memorials.
Tree Protection Orders
Tree Protection Orders have been enforced in Guernsey since 2009. They serve as a legal safeguard to protect one or more trees from felling or potential damage.
I can provide advice on TPOs, e.g. how to navigate them, written permissions to voice wishes of a client, to assess tree health, to retain, work on or remove a tree.
Tree Condition Assessments
While trees very rarely cause harm to people or damage to property, they are dynamic living organisms that require observation and care. A Tree Condition Assessment can deliver pre-emptive action, or address concerns over one or more trees.
A TCA involves an in-depth inspection and survey of the tree(s) with a bespoke and detailed report, making recommendations for care or remedial work. A climbing inspection can also be carried out, if required, with all equipment included.
Condition assessments for multiple trees can also be carried out, in the form of a Full Tree Inventory assessment.
Climbing Inspection
Should any of these services require further non-ground based inspection, I can undertake a fully insured climbing inspection using my own equipment.
Bat Inspection
Climbing endoscopic surveys can be provided to assist with existing bat surveys or Potential Roost Features. I can undertake a fully insured climbing inspection using my own equipment, including an endoscope, to deliver a detailed report with any photographic findings. For more information, click here.
